Well, Today is Anything at Anytime's 1st Birthday!

Yes, Anything at Anytime Turns 1 today!

I may have missed Mothers' Day and God knows what else...... But, I am not missing out on Anything at Anytime's First Birthday.

It has taken a year to get this far and in that year many, many things have happened.
It has been an interesting journey to say the least.

I have met (not in person) many new people.
Shared, Laughed, and Cried with some of them it has enriched me all the more.

I Thank You all for helping me get Anything at Anytime to this point.

Anything at Anytime is Almost at 100 followers (a Goal that at times seems unreachable, LOL), Comments are nearing the 1000 mark (I know that doesn't seem like much, but then again almost 1000 things said by others is a bunch).

There have been approximately 8200 visits to the site,
21600+ page views,
85+ following on RSS feeds,
Several "Face Lifts" and adjustments to the site - some because I thought they looked good, others at suggestions, and all for the better, I Think.
Some Good Writings and some Real Stinkers
Being sick and hurt Frequently, hasn't helped much, But....... Anything at Anytime is still here and will be!

So, Today I raise a Cup of the Bloggers Life Blood (Coffee) in Toast and Thanks for those that helped us get to where we could Celebrate Anything at Anytime's 1st Birthday.

Jamie's site Daydream Believer was the first Blog of Note (or B.O.N) that I followed.  Her site is a mix of what is happening in her private life and once in awhile what is going on at School and with her Teaching.  She also gets into some of those TV shows that I just can Not sink my teeth into; however I can get into her reviews and insights about what is going on in them.  


It is amazing what you can learn about people with their blogs and such.

Gift of Renewal

- to symbolize that things Can be Re-Used and A New Beginning to the New Year.

Some of you have seen this already and have commented about it -
Now it its time to SPREAD the Word.




The Idea is Simple - Between Now and December 30th - You make a Gift with your own hands. 

It can be ANYTHING. 
It MUST have something Recycled in it.
And
You give it to Someone (Not in your Home (member of your Household)) on December 31st. - Family, Friends, Coworkers..... Anyone.  You could even give it to the first Person that says hello to you on New Year's Eve day. 

We were thinking that this would be something relatively simple.  It would require a bit of your time (as all Gifts should) and a little imagination/creativity.

We thought a fitting Name would be "A Gift of Renewal" 


If you like the Idea and think it is reasonable - You have until December 30th to get them/it done and Give it on December 31st.

A Blogging Christmas Idea, Twelve Blogs by Christmas

Anything at Anytime is going to do something.......

Well,....... a bit different and see how it goes.

Starting today I am going to build up a list of:

No, I am not going to create Twelve more Blogs.  What?  You Think I'm THAT Crazy?

I'm a little Nuts, I will admit that but in all honesty we all are "a bit off our rockers" at times.  I just think better when I stay off Balance.

This Idea is sort of but not quite like the 12 Days of Christmas.
Not 12 of this and 11 of those and 10 of these.......
No.
Simple.
I will mention one blog a day and create a link and ask that those of you that read me regularly stop in and visit and comment on that Blog - maybe even follow it if you like it.

So it will be known - there are No Favorites - just whichever one grabs my attention and gets put on the list.

Canadian Blogger Girl

Yesterday, I told you that I would be passing out the Award I got and as there is no Definitive number of "Pass Ons" I have decided that when that happens I will "Pass On" to 3 other Blogs.

Remember there is no particular order other than first that come to mind.

The first one will be to Annah at when Red Means Go - She get this for a couple of reasons: 1.  She Always comes up with something Unique and has her own little cool cartoons to boot.  2.  (And this is Probably the most important to her :) ) She LOVES CUPCAKES!

Next goes out to Joanne at 10 Minutes 2 Breathe - She is very New to the blogging world but she has some good post over at her site and they are short and to the point but conveys the life of a Person and Parent Very Well in her short Post.  Her Site is Clean and Simple and "Comfy".  So if you get a chance - Stop, Read and Comment on something she has written.

Oh, if your wondering - to be honest - how I ran across her site?  I was adding my site to another directory and read one of their articles and she had commented and used her Blog addy as part of her Signature (something we all should do when leaving "Real" Comments).  As you all know I have Later Stage Emphysema so when I read "10minutes2breathe"....... Well, I think you get the Idea.  Needless to say, I was Pleasantly Surprised.

Last but Definitely NOT least is................
Nana over at Benchmark 60.  Another Clean, easy to follow site.  Nana is a Retired Education Specialist (she was a Teacher and later she was in Administration for her School District), Grandma and when she talks (types)...... Well, No BS there she tells it like it is and what is happening in her life and going on around her.
From what I have Read she has the attitude we all should aspire to when we get to a point of Retirement.

Nana has been a Follower of mine from Almost the beginning if not the beginning.  She had her site set by the time I hit the stage and she has frequently come in and commented about the growth and "Changes" to my site as she notices them.  Can't Put one Past a "Teacher".  :)
So, Stop in and pay her a visit at Benchmark 60.

You know what it is like to see 3200 text messages on your Phone bill?

Well, Luckily, J and I had shuffled around funds and cleared up room to get unlimited "Text" messaging because we "Knew" the girls would eventually start "Texting" all the time.  So the 3200 did not hit us with a HUGE Bill but was a Surprise as that was from just my Oldest!

Stunned at the quantity was/is an Understatement!  How can you Text 3200 times when you are at school or under Mom and Dad's eyes all the time?  I mean Really?  Come On!

And do you want to hear the Sad part?

Dad didn't get 1 from her.  :(

Last just a short note on this:  Yesterday's Post has received a little attention - Not a ton but is getting a bit of Traffic from a few referrals.  So if you have a chance check out the "Gift of Renewal" and Comment, Link to it, Facebook it, Tweet it and all of those things, Please?  It could become something Very interesting and that we all could say "We started THAT!"

Enjoy Christmas Lights? Then Watch, Listen, and Read

Anything at Anytime from time to time brings you a bit of music to listen to and maybe make you think.

I don't put music up on the site everyday.  I won't.  This site isn't set up that way and I won't go there with it but there are times and Seasons that will get a bit more music attention.  Christmas is one of them.  So, as I am surfin the net and I find good Christmas Music I will put it up on the site for the holiday.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is one of my families favorites when it comes to Music at Christmas Time.  Just something about the mix or presentation of Orchestra as or in a "Rock" format.

This is my Time of year.  The "Cold" I can definitely do without, what I am talking about is the feelings, the thoughts, the Peace of mind one gets when being Kind just to be Kind (Something we should all do anyway, all the time!).  This IS My Time of Year, the time of year I know I am at my Best!

Yesterday, I thought about and wrote a tad bit about Traditions (wasn't much, just a little).
My thoughts are this: I am connected with People in Australia, various parts of the Middle East, Russia, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and of course the United States; by this blog (and following other blogs).  Why can't I connect Us ALL?  Get all of US together (like a Family at Christmas) to start a New Tradition.  Something WE ALL can Work on Together.  Start  SOMETHING that will travel around the Globe as Christmas comes to Each of US.

Doing something small to Connect us all.  Create something that WE ALL will have in common.  Something Simple.  Something that doesn't take money.  The only things it would require is OUR Time and OUR Hearts!  Something that brings to light in all of US that we are all different but really Deep Down that We are ALL the SAME!

60 years ago a task like this would have been IMPOSSIBLE, 30 years ago it was IMPOSSIBLE.  Today?  Well, WE do not have that Excuse - "It is IMPOSSIBLE" does not hold water.  Want to know WHY I say IT CAN BE DONE?

Easy!

I am here in El Paso, Texas as I write this.

Where are you Right now as You Read this?

Seriously, comment today, tell me/US where you are when you read this: Country and State (if you have them).

What I propose is NOT IMPOSSIBLE!  We ALL just need to figure out something simple that People can say "I can take a few minutes of my Time for that." and set a date that we all try and get People to do it.  Something done at the Same Moment or at the Same Time in every time zone.
Example if it started at 8PM Christmas Eve in Chirstchurch, then 8PM in Adelaide, then 8PM in Hong Kong, 8PM in St Petersburg, 8PM in Frankfurt, 8PM in London, 8PM in................  I think You All get the Idea.
Some of you will Recognize those cities and Some of you won't.  They are cities in different countries that have had multiple visits to my site and some of them comment regularly.

So, If We can all run into each other here Why Can't WE ALL Join in some fashion on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.  Any and All Suggestions would be Great!

At Least Let US ALL give it an Effort.

WOW! Almost 6 Months - Really?

Anything at Anytime (I) wasn't paying attention.

Today's post will be #153 - that means I passed 150 a few days ago.

How did I miss that?!?

Well, I did.

I Guess we all missed out on the Fireworks show for that one.  Bummer.


Looking at the Calendar, I started this Blog - Anything at Anytime - back on May 23rd 2010.  The 6 month moment is fast approaching.

Reached 181 visits that first week as I visited a ton to make sure things were looking good and I begged, and Posted everywhere - and begging some more for people to stop in and see what they thought and how the site looked.

I Think Anything at Anytime's look changed 4 or 5 times that first week.

I should have taken screen shots of the changes but as I was REALLY NEW to the whole thing I didn't.
Shame that, as I think everyone would have noticed HUGE Differences.  Those that are still with me from the beginning can attest to that, if they can remember?!?!?!?

That was the Then.

There are a few single visits from a few Countries in Africa, Central America and South America that are not showing up but for those of you - Well, you are all still a part of this slowly, steadily growing Blog.

I have slowed up on the "Running" out there and Begging and as some call it "Blog Whoring".
Don't get me wrong.  I still do it but not as much as I was.  I think I have built up a solid base and with time, good writing, word of mouth (that means you my steadfast followers - letting others KNOW and telling them to stop here or Else!!!!!), a Blog Whoring here, a Begging there; the flood of "Followers" and comments will come.

I have several Followers (public Followers) that are already on the way to, as Annah puts it, "Famosity".
A few of my Followers are some of those Lucky Few that Google has seen fit to put on the B.O.N.s

B.O.N.s you ask?  BLOGS of NOTE.  A way Google points out some very interesting Blogs.  Still trying to figure out how they Judge that, as some of what they pick are just DUHHHHHHH?????.  Then again, Some are Awesome Blogs.

I still think they are a tad rattled over at the Picking department as Anything at Anytime hasn't been chosen yet, but that will come with time.  I won't offer to sacrifice nor harm any Pictures of Chickens.  I won't!
I draw the line at Sacrificing Chicken Pictures.  *Wink*

I have made "Friends" from many Places.  They have their own blogs that I think are good, great blogs that keep people interested, educated, and just gives people the overall feeling that there are others out there dealing with the same Bull**it!

Annah - Red Means Go (don't take this wrong Girlo) a young woman that makes me think of what my own girls will be like in a few years (Scary and Fun all rolled into One) - in Florida.

LAvery - When a Southern Woman Rambles and The Magnolia Blossom Review (which she just did a re-review of Anything at Anytime and we have "Improved" from 3.7 Blossoms to a FULL 4 Blossoms), and she is the Overseer of RBU (Real Bloggers United, which has featured a couple of my posts) - in South Carolina.

Mynx - has a couple,  one called Dribble..... and another called Secret Pleasures.. (a very, very Adult story site.  She has asked me to write something for there but I still need to work up the Juevos (see Man, Moment, ????? for the definition) in order to match the Steam that site creates.
In the Great Down Unda - Australia for those that aren't in the know.

Jamie (I'm always getting the "M" and the "I" flip-flopped) - at Daydream Believer and (unless I have just misread everything) a Teacher like J - in The Rocky Mountain State.

Mrs. Midnite - a Love in Edinburgh, Scotland (and NO Love is not what you are thinking it is - English reference "Love" is totally different in context - like I tell the girls go LOOK it UP!) that has a site called Mrs. Midnite's Mutterings.

A Call to Action and Input

Anything at Anytime would like to make a few changes here on the site.

Nothing drastic mind you, just maybe a touch cosmetic (upon legitimate suggestions) and to one of my additional Pages.

So, with that in mind, Anything at Anytime asks YOU; the reader, follower or just individual that stumbled upon this site, to peruse (look around) the site and find what Anything and Everything you Like and Don't Like.  Posts that you think are good and deserve a place that others can find it quickly and easily.

If you take a glance at the Favorites page, you will see that I put My Favorites on it, but I state that it is to be my favorites and Your Favorites.

Find those posts I have written that you really enjoy and comment here so that I can start building a list of what needs to be added to the Favorites page.  Let me/us (all that read my blog) know what you liked about the posts and why it should be a Favorite.  I would definitely like to know and others might find it interesting as well.

As for the Cosmetics -- Legitimate suggestions that will "flow" with everything will be considered and toyed with to get it just right.
Anything in the overall look that doesn't quiet fit or doesn't work like you think it should, those kinds of Things.

Meant to Do and I Took Part

Anything at Anytime's 100th Post! 


I Wanted to set this up with bells, whistles, fireworks and the whole shebang.

I decided to keep it rather simple and put two post together one short discussion and a 3 month I Took Part in That (haven't done one of those in awhile and you all should see where we are).

So on with the first bit.

Last night I was surfing the channels as usual and ran into one of my Favorite movies just as it was starting, perfect timing.  The Rookie starring Dennis Quaid as John Morris.  It is a Baseball Movie and has some good bits in it for young and old alike.  It seems every single time I see it I find something new that makes me think about how that could pertain to my life or what is going on with me and mine.

Well, last night was no different.  Now, I am not going to tell you the whole story and this and that of the entire movie because you have to see it for yourself and it is based on a True Event.  Anyway, to set up what got me thinking last night, John (Dennis Quaid) has had issues with his father in the past but an event is taking place in John's life that has him questioning his options.  John goes to visit his father and get his opinion (which in itself is a big step).  His father says this:  "Your grandfather once told me: "It's OK to think about what you want to do until it is time to do what you were MEANT to Do."  I know that may not be what you were wanting to hear."

So it got me to thinking about me and my situation.  I have always been the Dreamer type and always have tried to be a realist optimist (prepare for the worst and always hope for the best).  Maybe, just maybe, I was meant to write.  Who knows?  I don't know.  I just know that I have been at this consistently for three months now and it I am not at a point of stopping.  I just want to keep going and drawing more people to read and think about what I have to put out there/here.  Some may think I am nuts, others might find it funny and yet others may find something to expound upon.  Maybe I was put in the position/situation that I am because that is where I was Meant to be?


Part II of today's Post

I Took Part in That  -- 3 Month total and Map

As You can see by the map it is filling out nicely from the beginning.  Looking at the Map you see El Paso with the Largest Number and you see the total visits at 2,204.  If I have done my figures right I would say that between 270 - 300 visits have been by me when I go in and make post on other sites like Facebook and Google.  So I will go with the larger Number of 300 from the initial 2,204 and that leaves a total of 1,904 visits from 54 countries and 447 cities.  I hope that by the end of the year I can have that total close to or beyond 3,000 (would love to see that kind of traffic in a month, but small steps.)

Thanks to all of you that stop by and read what I have put up.  We all made that map look like that together.

It Starts with ONE!

No matter what it is, it must have a start.

The start could be a first person to do something.  A thought, an action, a reaction; first there is one and then another and another.  Before you know it, something has begun to take on a life of its own.

Take for example this blog - Anything at Anytime.
Anything at Anytime started on May 23rd 2010 with me.  My lonesome, single self (family: wife and kids don't count).  Talking, chatting, being active with others and a little over two months later and I have 63 Public Followers, plus a few via networked blogs and, the surprising one to me, I have 75 following with feed burner (RSS Feeds).  I know several of those are from the regular and networked followers, but if my figures are right, I have around 110 different followers.  Two Months ago 10 followers would have been big.

One person having an idea, a thought, sharing that thought or idea with others and those others share with others.  Some "bump" into it by accident but the idea or thought sticks, and they share it.  Before you know it, it starts to grow.  Sometimes the idea or thought grows quickly and other times slowly.

Personally, I like it when they have a quick start to jump start it and give it legs, then slowdown to let everything "fill out" and catch up.
Anything at Anytime is taking that route.
Where does it go from here?  Only we can tell.  Yes, WE - I write, you read and then comment to open discussion.  Maybe I put up a Post you really like or are Passionate about.  Make your Comments. Pass it on to People you think would have an interest in it.  Encourage them to comment.

We, You and I, do not know what comments might elicit a response or a moment of learning or reflection.  We could all pick something up out of others experiences.

I know the traffic is here.  I know you all comeback to see what is new and where I have "Gone" with my Posts.  Currently Anything at Anytime sees roughly 25 - 30 visits a day (some days more and some days less).
Comment, let me know somethings you would like to see discussed or ideas you want me to try and get discussions going.  The more participation, the more We ALL get out of this.

I took part in that! 3rd Week

Well, We are slowly moving along here with Anything at Anytime.  One step at a time and constantly moving forward.

This week I kept my visits to the site down to 10 visits and we are seeing a bit more traffic form all around. 
I Believe that next week will be the last Weekly post of I took part in that and from next week forward We will be doing "I took part in that!" on a monthly basis.

So here it is:

If you can't tell we were a bit slower this week.  Partially due to the fact I was sick for the first few days of the week and really could not get into working the blog like I should have. 

I do think for being sick the blog still did well and is catching a small following and new visitors are arriving daily.  Looking at the map again you see El Paso is the largest and 20 of those visits were mine.  One of the most consistent viewers is out of Doha in Qatar. 

Still aiming to get the map covered so please tell your friends and family if you think you are finding good quality material here. 

I will continue to strive and put out good material for us all to read and think about.

I took part in that! Week 1

Since it is Sunday, I figured to keep this simple with something that just might become a regular thing here.

Something I hope you can All say "I took part in that."  (You know, that looks good for the title!)

So a quick little bit on how "Anything at Anytime" has done this week on the World Map. 
What you see below is a "snip-it" (a program in the accessories of Windows 7, basically a drag and size screen shot cutter that is so simple to use) of the Google Analytics map for "Anything at Anytime" Blog. 

I think we (you and I) have had a Fantastic 1st Week.  As you can see on the map the Biggest Circle is in the United States and that is here in El Paso.  That Circle represents 52 visits.  Out of those 52 visits 25-30 were my visits (you would expect that as I view everything once I have posted in order to make sure it all Looks good).  So we (you and I) can see the true numbers I will use 30 as my visit count. 

In the Lower left corner you see the 181 total visits minus my 30  means 151 visits from across the world.  Truly not Killer numbers.  For a First week,  Fantastic numbers!!!!!!!  So Look at the map and see where you are: 

Now we can all work on this together and see how full we can get the map.  As you can see we are spreading across the map, now it is just a matter of telling others. 

Any Suggestions on what this Weeks Goal should be?
