Can't Sleep and Can't Write... Maybe... LOST?

I Hate these nights!

I Hate these periods where I run completely dry and can't put two and two together to get four when it comes to writing.

I have some fantastic ideas, just can't put them together.
Can't for the life of me get past the general idea.

Can't blame meds, being sick, or hurt this time.

Nope!
No can do there.

This one is all in my head somewhere?
(and For those of you that decide to get Smart and say something referencing "sick in the head"..... WELL, :P )

Where am I going with this?

Your guess is as good as mine!

Remember the name of this site is......... Anything at Anytime.

Well, I have No clue what I will write.  Guess this is Free Writing mode.    ANYTHING

and it is also 12:46 AM my time.  So, I guess that makes this....... ANYTIME

LOST!

That's how it feels.
Lost.
I was doing pretty good in my book.  Had some good things going on here.  I thought and think, and from some of the comments from others they thought so as well.

All the way to January.
Then life somehow got in the way and turned me this way and that way, up there and down there, and side to side.  Before I knew it or even had a clue it was Happening, things got so twisted and bent, I couldn't/can't tell my Head from my Ass when it has come to writing something for this here blog.

I have left myself plenty of "Crumbs" to follow and the birds have not picked them up.
None the less, I am still lost.
But I see that kindly little Ole Lady and I am beginning to wander if I am about to get Cooked somehow.
(Let's see who the first is to tell me what that is in reference too?)

Lost

Lost

Lost in an Empty Pit of nothing to write.
or
Lost to a Mountain of thoughts I can't corral into a viable writing topic for myself.

Lost actually to Both.
                Funny as hell but true.

I have had this happen before but not to this extent or length of time.

One thing I have learned over the years ---

Shit Does NOT always treat you nice!
Life is NOT always Fair!
However,
with a little patience and time.....
things change, sometimes for the better and sometimes not but they do change.

Deal with the current situation the best that you can.
Patience......
Patience............
Patience..................
and when you least realize it things have changed and in Most cases for the better.
Again, Not Always, but........

Can you make hide or hair of what I wrote?
Not sure I can.

Maybe the Raving Intelligent Lunatic got hold of the Keyboard and my Passwords again?
No, Couldn't have been him.
He actually writes better than this.

Well, I tried my hand at Free Writing tonight/this morning and where did it get me?

Damned if I know!

P.S.  If you know where this got me PLEASE let me know?

#7

aka: RBU

RBU gets the #7 slot today of the 12 Blogs of Christmas.  I have mentioned RBU before in a few posts because I am a member; However!, the reason it gets included in this list is simple.  Right now over at RBU you will find many various kinds of Posts based upon the Topic they have for the month.  Currently - the generalized topic is the Holidays, and there are already some fantastic posts and connections to various sites of other writers/bloggers.  There is a Treasure Trove awaiting to be discovered and this is one of the first steps to finding it.

You may find you want to join and submit some pieces.  It is a good way to get additional Exposure to the your site and build up some new "People Connections"/Blogger Friends.

#8   Daydream Believer
#9   Tribal Writer
#10 10 Minutes 2 Breathe
#11 Fizzee Food
#12 Canadian Blogger Girl

An Answer

(to be read as if you were Reading Twas the Night Before Christmas)

Yesterday like any other this Holiday Season.

J and I were wondering How, What and Where.
Christmas was coming and not much to share.
The Girls, they knew.

I in our room watching my Games.
She and the Girls watching their "Soaps" they had recorded all week.

When out of the blue, there arose such a bang, clatter and Curse.
As the mailman attempted to deliver the Post.  (Mail for us in the States but "Post" fits better!)

Letters You see, with Writing, Stamps, Cards and Stuff.

A meager fare to be sure,
but Family and Friends passing Word of Good Cheer.
A Blessing of sorts.
(little We knew)

A Card for me and a Card for her (J)
We pondered and Wondered,
Who could it be?
What could it mean?

We opened our Cards and what did we see?

Christmas for her
and
Christmas for me.

The Girls don't know so wait till they see!

Christmas is Coming for You and for Me!

I am the type that likes to see people "Get" things, to see and give that Joy.

Yeah, like everyone else I like to get things as well, but it is not a must.
The Must for me is to watching Others get theirs.
Just something about seeing a "SMILE" on someones face........
We have been tight in the Past but this year has been Tightest of all.

That actually happened Yesterday.

Children in all their innocence Know Santa is there.
Some say Santa  does Not Exist.
Then those that do not believe ask you to Prove it.

My Answer to that - Santa is in You, Your Neighbor, Your Friends, That Person down the street.
Santa Does Exist in Us, each and Every One!

Santa mailed us Ours and the Girls will have Theirs.

Thank You Santa.

Ingredients & Meds

Anything at Anytime has missed a couple of days and I am sorry about that.  Hopefully you will understand why after this post.

A few days ago I told you all I might get off of schedule a tad bit and that I might come up with some really out there things if the situation was right.

Well that didn't happen (at least not yet).  No, something totally unexpected happened.

I am on of those people that when I get a prescription I read the print out the pharmacy gives you.  You know the one that says:  This medicine is for blah blah blah.  Really, I read the whole damn thing.  That way I know what to look for if one of the kids or my wife have taken to much.

One of my meds just so happened to be one my wife has taken before and on the way home she made the comment "Oh, you can't drink any of your grapefruit juice with that it has some sort of reaction."  When we got home I read the prescription description (haha, made a funny with out trying.  Prescription description... Well, anyway back to the story).  I turns out that grapefruit somehow INCREASES the medicine in your blood stream.

So, Bummer none of my Ruby Red Grapefruit juice for me.

Still have my Sunny D.

Now this happened two days ago, just so you all understand.

I got up and helped the wife and girls get ready to go to school.  No, they haven't started yet but my wife is part of the PTA for the school the girls go to and they (the PTA) are trying to get memberships and donations during registrations.  I see them off and decide that I am going to go get me a Big Cold Glass of Sunny D.

Yup, Sunny D sounds good about that time.  Pour the Glass and then up and down the glass that fast.  Damn, I forgot to take my meds so I pour myself another glass of Sunny D and go get my meds and take them all and finish off my 2nd Glass of my precious Sunny D.

As I went back to the kitchen to put my glass in the sink, I noticed that I had forgotten to put the Sunny D back in the refrigerator.  So I grab it with the ingredients label facing me.  You know I have like Sunny D so much I never bothered to read the ingredients before.  I Read the entire first line and you know how your vision sort of allows you to see more than just the line you are reading?  I Stood there shocked and "OH, MY GOD!!!!!"  Right there at the end of the Second line "GRAPEFRUIT JUICES".

It didn't kill me or I wouldn't be here typing this today, but then again, None of you have ever seen my face or spoken to me in person.  So who knows?

All I can say is:  When on strong meds that tell you to avoid certain foods, Avoid them!  Read all ingredient labels and make sure your not getting it from a source you weren't thinking of.

Luckily for me it just made me so Damn Tired, I can hardly remember the last two days.

Ever "Feel" that Way?

This was one of the "Something to make you chuckle"s - (about half way down in the right hand column).

I read them all the time because they are just a "hoot".

"I live on a one-way street
that is also a Dead End.
I'm not sure how I got there."
                                                                 Steven Wright

Personally, I would have worded it a little differently -

I live at the end of a Dead End street.
Problem is, It is a One-Way!

Ever "Feel" that way?  or  Know someone that does?

Do me, yourself or them a favor, throw a rope to them or tell someone, just that little thing could change everything.

You never know when you might need someone to do the same thing for you!

The Night the Lights went out in........ El Paso?

Last night, while I was here at the computer monitoring the blog for comments and playing in one of my Poker Stars tourneys, a monster Thunderstorm hit coming out of nowhere.  Winds in excess of 60+ mph and sounding like that dreaded "Freight Train" that you don't want to think about.

Not that we get tornadoes here in El Paso that often, but having spent several years living in tornado country, you Know that sound.  Well, it wasn't!  Just a big bad Thunderstorm with some vicious wind.

This was about 8 - 8:30 PM that it came through here and so I had Jackie put the TV on one of the local channels so I /We could see if there were any alerts coming out for the area.

We had all been in the living room for about a half hour and it seemed that everything was settling down and it was just going to be a good rain storm, so the girls went to their rooms to get ready for bed and........

BOOM,  a Thunder and lightning strike close to the house and that is it LIGHTS OUT!!!

The girls (all three) were shaken.  Hell, I was even shaken!  That damn thing was Close (I have been next to Bradleys firing their guns with no hearing protection and That made them sound like a whisper).  So, we are all shaken and lights out, I tell the girls to stay where they are and not to move in the dark.  Believe me when I say dark, It was Dark.

Dark is an understatement, there wasn't even a hint of light from anything.  Off I go into the dark looking for the lighter we use on the stove.  One step, two steps, Damn!!!!! I trip on Snuggles (our dog if you haven't read an earlier story).  Luckily I catch myself with flailing arms in the kitchen doorway.  Good, I am only a couple of steps from the stove and the lighter to get something so that we can see.

I reach over to the shelf and NOTHING....... I feel around a bit and...... nope Nothing.........  Damn, Damn, and Damn again!!!!!!

OK,  Where is the Damn Lighter!  I ask (if you can call that asking).

Three different voices and a "woof" all at the same time.
"woof" from Snuggles of course.
"I think its on the fridge"
"on the table in the kitchen" and
"maybe on the dinning room table"

GREAT!

One was easy to dismiss can you guess which one?

Since I am in the kitchen I start to move to the kitchen table because it is closer to where I am and was quickest to check.  Having learned my lesson from the earlier "trip", I slide my feet across the floor slowly so I don't stumble on anything else.  Glad I learned my lesson earlier as I bumped the water and food bowls both one after the other as I move to the table.

Feeling around on the Table Nothing again.
Now, moving over to the fridge and feeling around on the fridge Again Nothing.

So now I have to choose: weave my way through the mine field of the living room to get to the dining room table or head to our bedroom to get some matches on my desk?

Easy choice, I decided on the bedroom and my desk as less to worry about tripping on.  Slowly moving out of the kitchen and stepping through the doorway that leads to our bedroom.

To LATE.......... I forgot about the step down.........
Arrrrgggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!

A bump and a bruise on my knee later I get to the desk and Thank God found the matches!

I strike a match and use the light to guide me back through it all back to the living room.  The match almost burns out on my finger but I shook it out before it could and pull another match to strike so that I can start looking for the candles.

I strike the match and light it....... and .......  *wink*........ *blink*........ and the Lights Turn back on!
