I don't know who was scared the most, her or me.
Our oldest is 15 1/2 and starting to study for her Drivers License, so Dad (me, if you didn't guess already) had to take her out for her first Driving Lesson.
I have been hoping for and dreading this day from the day she was born. Hoping for because it would show she is growing up and almost ready for life and its many challenges. Dreading it because it would mean she was that much closer to growing up and no longer "Dad's little girl".
The challenge of a lifetime has reared its head.
I drive a standard and that means clutch and grinding gears. I don't know if I was more afraid of her driving or her possibly ruining my clutch. It started off with her grinding the gears to find reverse. I was a bit worried at that point. If she is grinding to find reverse would she be grinding the gears to find the other gears?
I kept it simple for both her and myself. I had her drive a small little trek that was about 1/4 to half a mile long. It had a few turns and two places she would have to reverse and turn around.
I was worried to say the least but proud that she was willing to attempt the challenge at hand.
She found it the most difficult to put it in reverse and turn around, which is understandable as she has never attempted anything like this before. I found it the most difficult sitting there beside her and not saying something every two seconds and not getting frustrated at her attempts to shift gears. Staying away from cars parked on the side of the road was another adventure. The last thing either of us needed was for her to hit a car on the side of the road.
It was a first try behind the wheel of a car for her and she did rather well for the first time out. She did the "grind'em and find em" only when she put the car in reverse and had no difficulty shifting to first and second gears. The short stretch I had her on was only long enough to be in first or second gear. Going beyond second gear will be after I have her driving that little bit with me not saying anything to her at all, then we will look at going further and shifting to third and fourth gears respectively.
Anyway, as I said, she did good for a first time.
The car is still running,
she didn't wreck,
and Dad's nerves are still intact.
So all in all it went well and there will be a Driving Lesson #2 sometime in the near future.
It is hard to believe but 15 1/2 years ago I was holding her in the crook of my arm and now I am teaching her to drive. Where have the years gone and what challenges will we face together as I teach her to drive?
God only knows.
All I know is that she and I both survived Driving Lesson #1.
I hope you all have a good day
Danny

Real Life imitating TV or TV imitating Real Life?
Anything at Anytime has missed a couple of days because of a Computer with a very sour attitude.
I have since had to change that but will give you more about that later this coming week.
But......
For today's Post --- Well, driving home with J, D, and E yesterday put me in a Quandary.
Trying to figure out if this is a situation of Life Imitating TV or Vice Versa.
What lead to this Quandary was having seen a TV show (Lopez Tonight) on TBS.
George Lopez has this bit in his Night Show Called "Tweets, Don't Fail Me Now!"
Honestly, I don't watch him all the time and Every single night.
I'm really not into the Guest Appearances he has, but He is an honest Everyday Joe (or Jose) Comedian dealing with life like Every Single Hard Working Person out there!
Again - the Appearances, Nah not that interested in Someone WITH Money, BUTTTTTTTT, Listening to his Comedy, All Day - He is like a Modern Version of Bill Cosby and Eddie Murphy (without the early Language).
So when I saw this bit on "Tweets, Don't Fail Me Now!" with the "Jused Cars Salesman" I (Living in El Paso, TX) Laughed my ASS OFF. It was so DEAD ON TARGET!
Then Come back because I have an Real Life that fits it.
(If you are Living in El Paso, this Picture was taken on the Corner of Carolina and Alameda - the lot right across from 7-11.)
We were Driving Home from a visit to the Store and J made a comment - "Spoooor.....Spory????"
Luckily we had a Stop light or I never would have seen it and had the girls take the Pictures -- The First thing I thought of was the George Lopez bit from the night before.

(Had to put both of them up as didn't want the girls complaining about whose picture got "POSTED" on the Blog.)
Now, The Quandary is this -- Did George Lopez come down here and see this and ran his spiff off of it? or Did They see George Lopez's spiff and DO IT?
OR
Is this Just ONE OF THOSE Coincidences that is JUST too Good to Pass UP!?!?
Hope Your Weekends go well!

I is a Holy Man or is it "Holey" Man?
Well, Anything at Anytime is going for a Change of Tone.
So, in order to do that I must find something fun or funny to write about.
What better way to do that than to find something about myself to make myself chuckle and maybe all of you laugh? - even if just a little.
If you couldn't tell - Yesterday was a Rough day - I'm not going to get into the whole thing but I had to break my Driver's side window in the car yesterday and that just started the Lovely thing.
Anyway, We found a replacement for it yesterday and I delivered the car there this morning so they could work on it. Hopefully will have the car back with the window fixed this morning.
God, was it cold driving over there with the window down, oooppppsss, with the Window GONE.
It was so cold I could have sworn I felt a draft but then again at 45mph and cold out who wouldn't feel one, Right?
I got the car dropped off and my Father-in-Law gave me a ride home. I then waited for about an hour and J and I started getting the laundry washed and on the line.
The Cold Drive to drop off the car must have really gotten to me because I still felt that damn Draft and had chills going up my spine and freezing my butt.
A little bit later - still dressed as I was when I went and dropped off the car to the repair shop, one of the girls asked me if I was a Holy Man today?
My response: "After yesterday, I don't think HE will think of me that way for a very, Very Long time."
Just as I said it I heard the phone click *cushhhsoit* (or whatever the sound is when a picture is taken). I started to turn around and heard it again *cushhhsoit*.
"What are you doing?"
Response: "You'll see."
A little later - just a little while ago (just before starting this post) I was wondering what I would Post today after Yesterday. I was thinking about passing out some Blog Lovin Awards, BBBBUUUUUTTTTT I checked my email first.
This is what I found:
Can you believe that is what I was wearing when I Dropped off the Car this morning. No wonder my Butt was Freezing - I can only wonder what the guys at the repair shop thought?!?!?!?!?!?! LOL
Stop in tomorrow for a bit of Blog Lovin Awards will be passing out two of them to a few folks out there in Bloggy World.

A Change of Plans
Well, It doesn't Look like you all left Anything at Anytime after yesterday's Tirade.
Thanks for the responses I got from you all.
(and that is all I am going to say about that or I will get on another Rip Roaring Tear (don't want that))
I did have Plans for Today's Post; however, they got side tracked by Mynx over at Dribble..... .
I got back from Dropping the Girls off at School and checked my email, messages and comments and was told I needed to make a mad Dash over to Dribble.... so that I could get my "Goodies" before they went bad.
Lo and Behold:
Anything at Anytime has been Honored to Receive the PAV!!!! aka: The Irresistibly Sweet Award
An Award she Created Back in November and has been Sparsely given out.
(see her guidelines here: Mynx's Awards)
Now having Received this award it is to be Portioned out in Moderation -- Not just Freely Thrown about like the latest Cosmopolitan or ESPN magazine you just got in the mail.
I am to find 3 Blogs that I Find "Irresistible" that I can't help myself but go Running to when I see them up. That is already harder to do because Mynx's Dribble.... is one of those sites and I am not going to give it back to her and treat the Award like a Tennis ball in a Tennis Match...... That Just wouldn't BE RIGHT!
So those will come Later as I contemplate which Blogs shall receive this AWESOME Award!
Next: I am to divulge 5 Guilty Pleasures ---- Hmmmmm ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
1. Strawberries and Raspberries -- Love 'em, if I see them on a Dessert I have to have some. mmmmmmmm
2. Legs in Stockings, Garter and Heels (nice heels, not the kind that make a woman look uncomfortable wearing them), They just make a Woman LOOK SEXY - and No, I am NOT being SEXIST
3. Teasing My Wife in that way - You know - that way that says "I always WANT YOU!" (a pinch, tickle or Tease {got that from my GranPa W.}) without being obscene.
4. Bums. YES, BUMS - have you ever noticed how a Nice Shaped Bum on a Woman looks like an upside down Heart? You haven't? Well, take a peek sometime - they really do!
BEST for LAST - I am one of those that If I KNOW I REALLY Enjoy something, I save it for LAST so I can Remember it Longer (sort of Savor it).
5. I could suffer HELL a thousand times over just to See my Girls (J,D, and E) HAPPY. When they are HAPPY, NOTHING can go wrong. Their Happiness is MY BEST GUILTY PLEASURE!
So, My GUILTY PLEASURES - Open to the World.
If you stop by Mynx's Site to see what she had to say about my blog......
In my Own Defense,
I don't look that bad in a Pink Dress (LOL)
(Yes, there is a Picture on this site of me in a Pink Dress But I will not tell - You must find it on Your OWN!).
Hope you all have a Great Weekend!

***BREAKING NEWS!*** CHRISTMAS in JEOPARDY! and #4
Anything at Anytime is interrupted at this time to bring you ******* BREAKING NEWS*******
BREAKING NEWS from our on the scene Reporter Jack Frost
*Jack Frost*
Dan,
Apparently Christmas is in Jeopardy!!!
Reports are being kept Quiet on the issue but from an unnamed reliable source inside the El Paso County Jail, Santa has been Arrested!
Yes, Arrested!
According to our source Santa was forced to land by the Border Patrol helicopter because of erratic flying. The Border Patrol in conjunction with the El Paso Police Dept. was keeping an eye out for potential Drunk Drivers when the Sleigh Santa was driving was seen to be moving about in a very disorderly fashion. So the Border Patrol contacted the Local Police and informed them the location that they were forcing down the sleigh so that the Authorities could take him into custody.
The Charge - FWI - Flying While Intoxicated.
*Me*
This is serious Jack.
But just a moment, we will come back to you for more but first a quick message from our Sponsor.
Anything at Anytime is Glad to bring you #4 of the "12 Blogs by Christmas":

Jack, Now that we are back from our Sponsors we, here at the Studio, were wondering if you had any other information?
*Jack*
Dan,
Yes, Apparently when Santa was pulled over they gave him a Breathalyzer test and he FAILED Catastrophically!
His BEC - Blood Eggnog Content - was 10 times, YES! 10 Times the legal limit.
We have obtained a copy of his Mug Shot - this is what He Looked like when they forced Him to Land.
From what I have been able to gather so far, is that once the Police realized they had the REAL Santa they immediately got him before a Judge (name withheld so that No threats are made).
The Judge realized that if the matter were not solved quickly that Christmas may have to be put on hold or maybe even completely Canceled this year.
What I have learned (and I understand the Judge has just been told) is that Santa is NOT at Fault. Apparently the Elves were playing a Joke on Santa and instead of Hot Chocolate in his Thermoses they filled them with Eggnog.
We all know how addictive Eggnog can be!
One Drink is to many and a Thousand Drinks not enough!
Just a moment Dan,.......... Someone is Approaching the Podium.......
Its the Police Chief, let's see what he has to say.
*Police Chief*
Gentleman of the Press,
Since you are the first to pick up this story and the only one here reporting it, we are going to go through you to appeal to the people.
Ladies, Gentlemen, and Children,
Last night Santa was apprehended and Charged with FWI - Flying While Intoxicated. We Realize that this was not, repeat Not His fault as he was the Victim of a poorly, Very Poorly, timed Prank by the Christmas Elves. Regardless of that, Eggnogging and Flying are NOT TOLERATED!
That being Said....... We do not want to be the Cause of Christmas being Delayed or Canceled. The Judge realizes the Severity of the issues. His (the Judge's) Edict is that if enough interest can be Gathered and Proof Provided to him (the Judge) then he (the Judge) will release Santa to perform his (Santa's) regular duties.
*Jack Frost*
Chief,
How are the People to show their interest and Provide that Proof the Judge?
*Police Chief*
Jack,
They can Show the interest by Comments on your Stations Website. They can Tweet, Stumbleupon, Forward, email and every form you all can think of. Just Get the Word OUT!
The More Interest, Concern and Comments you can Gather Quickly will insure that Christmas goes on like it is Scheduled.
*Jack Frost*
Dan,
There you have it...... Christmas is in Our Hands!
We All need to get active.
If I may Dan, a personal appeal.......
People, you heard the Police Chief. Please!?!?!?!?
Tweet, Stumble, digg, use every available means to Pass this on and EVERYONE Comment so we will have a record to show the Judge that we Want SANTA FREE.
*Dan*
There you have it Folks....... Christmas is in Jeopardy and it is in OUR hands to Save it.
What will we Do?
*******************************
Thanks to my Oldest D for this Post. As we were outside yesterday putting up a few more Decorations, I asked her to step back and see how it "Looked". Her Response is what Triggered this today. "Dad, it looks as if Santa was FWI."
My response, "FWI???????"
Her answer, "Flying While Intoxicated"
I couldn't Pass this UP.
Please, Pass it around lets see what kind of response this gets?

It is in a Picture so it Must be TRUE!?! and #6
Anything at Anytime finds it hard to believe but It was caught on Camera last night - Mine at least.
You won't believe what happened last night.
I still find it hard to believe - just a wonder How I could have caught something like that on camera.
For those of you that don't know, I am a Space Buff and LOVE when special things happen. It just so happens last night/today is a double Whammy when it comes to Celestial events.
A Lunar Eclipse and A Solstice all in less than 24 hours of one another. The last time that happened was 372 years ago and maybe that is why I caught what I caught on Camera.
I will get into more into what I caught in just a bit.
First I must give you #5 of the "12 Blogs by Christmas":
Nana, has it going on over at her sites. She is a Retired Teacher, (Retired) Administrator of a School District, Grand Parent (Full Time) and Wife that puts what she sees and feels out there for a fresh perspective on life after Work. (Benchmark60)
She also comments about a wide variety of what is good in life in general and how she appreciates what happens in her life on Plentiful Sufficiency.
So stop by her sites and see what she has that might Enlighten you life with something you haven't thought of or maybe overlooked.

As I mentioned at the Beginning of this Post, I am a Space Buff so I couldn't help myself with Last night's Eclipse and had J and the Girls stay up with me until almost 1AM so that they could see it (or at least Part of it).
I even used my camera to try and catch a few pictures. I wasn't completely satisfied with what I was getting off of my camera so I borrowed Girls' cheap camera and took one picture after everyone had gone to bed and the Eclipse was in Full Bloom!
This Morning I have been downloading the Pictures onto this here computer of mine and trying to come up with a nice collage of a few pictures to Wow you all but to No avail except a small string of Pictures that show just a tad of the Eclipse happening.
HOWEVER -
The Picture I took of the Lunar Eclipse in Full Bloom with the Girls' Camera Now that one......
I am telling you Prepare yourselves!
He must have been doing a Test Run and Decided the Lunar Eclipse would provide "Cover".
It is in a Picture so it Must be TRUE!?!
When I saw this Picture after a closer look I was STUNNED to Say the Least.
Well, I have said Enough -- You be the Judge.
The only thing I can think is that He must have been testing some New kind of "Cloaking" device. If it had not been for the catching it on Camera I never would have seen it - Nor would you for that matter as I didn't see it when I was Looking right at the moon with my small Telescope.
Oh, and a heads up only 3 Shopping Days left and 4 Days till THE DAY.
Hope you all are ready.
Danny

I will get into more into what I caught in just a bit.
First I must give you #5 of the "12 Blogs by Christmas":
#5
is a 2'fer

It is in a Picture so it Must be TRUE!?!

Some New Dragons
Anything at Anytime has recently finished a small, Very Small, Dragon hunt.
So I just wanted you all to see my new additions here and you can comeback and visit them on the Dragon Page in the future:
and this one - well, I couldn't just pass him up when I saw him
Personally I have been Lax in the area of Dragon Hunting for the Dragon Page. I guess I am going to have to get off of my Arse and go get me catch me some more Dragons.
Speaking of Dragons, I am hoping to hear from Tomas soon (it has been almost a month now) about how is Quest is going searching for "Frozen Hell". I just hope he took the right gear with him when he went out into the Icelandic (or was it Greenland) wilderness. He was always the rash one and took off without proper planning all the time.
Hopefully he will have more than realizing he is running a step behind his "Prize".
Anyway,
Say "Hello" to my newest arrivals to the Dragon Page and pay them a visit from time to time. On the Dragon Page there are several Dragons to see and a little video (auto-plays so depending upon your speed may take a moment to load) - music and Pictures of some others I had a close call with.
So I shall let you go and prepare to make my preparations and see if I can go find some others to include.
Laters
Danny
P.S. Oh, if you run into any Good Dragons let me know where you found them and I shall ready my nets and traps.

My Halloween Costume?
Anything at Anytime asked you all for suggestions for my Halloween Costume a few posts back.
There were a few suggestions that I can't do at this time. They are:
1. George and Martha Washington - Good idea but don't have any appropriate clothing to get them right or even recognizable.
2. a Ghost - Again good idea but don't want to do something that has or could be Overdone.
3. a Politician - This could be done easily. I just don't want to Scare anybody so bad that they have a heart attack or something. I don't have insurance that would cover that.
The Suggestions that I would like you all to vote on and have your friends/visitors come over and vote on, are:
1. Gothic Albert Einstein
2. a Zombie Car Salesman
3. a Mrs. Doubtfire creation (if you don't know, it is a funny movie, go rent it and get a laugh)
4. A Crossdressing Dime Store Detective.
5. Other - Write in suggestions that can be done with stuff from home (if there are comments check and see if others have made suggestions you might want to vote for or put in your own)
There should be at least 15 Votes to provide a clear choice. If not then Jackie, the girls and I will choose one of the 4 above suggestions on Friday Night.
As for yesterdays Post - There were a couple good suggestions that I am taking into consideration for improvements. Making it Thirteen days of Halloween, and making the first day - a grave in a church yard.
Have fun and hope you have had or will have had a good weekend.

What Happens to us All Eventually!
Anything at Anytime is proud to present --
What Happens to us All Eventually!
Now before I get started working on this post today, I have a few chores and miscellaneous to do around the house.
First of course is waking up and getting my tired butt out of bed and get ready to get J and the girls to work/school.
(Got to have that first cup of coffee before I even attempt to drive them. You all know how that is.)
Done!
Jump in the shower and get cleaned up and ready for the day around the house.
(OK, I didn't "Jump" but you all know what I was talking about.)
Ready for the Day! (I Think)
Next - Have to make the bed and pick up the bedroom just a little so that it is "Livable"
Done!
Now, on to the living room and the girls room to see if they left any cups out so that I can get ready to do the dishes.
Everything is rounded up.
Do the first load of Dishes and in the rack. (Yes, we still do Dishes by Hand in this house.)
Get a dry clean dish towel and dry the first load and put it up.
Finished with that.
Break time - have to get another cup of Coffee.
Ahhhhhhhh!
Back to Dishes and the next Load.
Got them done, dried and put up.
Jump over into the Living room and do a quick general pick up.
Done!
Back to the Dishes and get the last load Done. (It is amazing how many dishes can back up when almost everyone in the house is YUCKO!)
Done and Put up!
Hmmmmm, there is something I am missing.
Have you ever done that?
You have something you have to do but there are other things you have to do before you get to it and by the time you can do it you forgot what it was?
I hate when this happens.
Sitting here at the computer now and for the life of me I can not remember what I was going to do next.
Something I have to do around the House? Nope.
Clean the car? Nope, that is this weekend.
Hmmmm, it is still to early to leave and go pick up J and the girls.
So it is not that.
This is just getting Frustrating! What was I going to Do?
DAMN!!!
Crap, I know what I was going to do. I was going to write something for you all to read.
Forget it!!!!
I can't remember what I was going to write.
You all are going to have to wait until tomorrow.
Have a Good Night or a Good Day depending upon where you are and what time it is when you read this.

Quick Note & Captcha Humor Episode 3
Anything at Anytime has a input from you request for yesterday's post.
Basically it is what or how should I be dressed for Halloween? I am leaving that open for my readers and any and all that visit the site and wish to comment and be included.
I will have a Before and After picture so that you may see and Judge how we (Jackie and I) did on my costume.
The most Common/Popular choice will be what I dress as for Halloween.
The Only Limits will be that it has to be something I can dress as with materials here at home. So feel free to look at yesterday's post and leave your comment/suggestion. Pass it on or link to it and have all of your Friends visit and comment on it.
Now for some more of that interesting and often weird, nutty:
The First one for today went to a Poem and Picture site from a follower/friend/sometimes commenter here and with Her site this just fit.
Glowlish = Glow + Delicious/Delish
Therefore Her Site is Glowlish!
This one was in response to a friend in AZ that just so happens to be a College Prof. and I think you all know by now that I have the utmost respect for all Teachers and this one just fit because of that Profession.
What do All Teachers need at the end of the school year?
A bunch of REST Ohhhhhhh Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This one was just so out there that I would get this slang for the site I commented on. The site just so happens to be a Movie commentary site on the top 200 or so movies of all time.
Of Course what do you do for movies in advance of them coming out to the public?
You have PROMOs
This one was priceless for the fact it fit so well with what I wrote at the bottom of the comment.
This was in response to a Friend from the Land Down Unda - She is selling her house and the post on the day was talking about how she was thinking about her routines and people she knows/but doesn't know and certain was of doing things where she currently lives and how it will be different when she sells her house and moves into whatever New Home they find.
So I guess in my response I am " FORSE " ing her future.
This time around the system did not give me any "ADULT" Captchas but I have noticed that it comes and goes in groups so who knows what will come out next in Captcha Humor 4.
Hope you all run across interesting Captchas of your Own.
Oh, and Don't forget to look at yesterday's post and comment on what Costume you would be interested in seeing.
